During your initial BlockWallet setup, you’re given a seed phrase and a default account. If you'd like to add additional accounts to your wallet, we offer 3 different options:
Create a new Account
This option creates a new account from the seed phrase used to initialize BlockWallet.
If you'd like to access pre-existing accounts associated with your seed phrase, just keep creating new accounts until you have access to all of them.
- Select the BlockWallet logo on the top left-hand corner of your screen.
- Select "Create an Account".
- Select "Create Account".
- Type in your desired account name. By default, the name of the account will be "Account X", with the variable X representing the sequential number of wallets that exist for your account.
- Select "Create".
Import an existing Account
Import a new account from a private key.
- Select the BlockWallet logo on the top left-hand corner of your screen.
- Select "Create an Account".
- Select "Import Account".
- Type in your desired account name. By default, the name of the account will be "Account X", with the variable X representing the sequential number of wallets that exist for your account.
- Paste the Private Key inside the appropriate field and select "Import".
Connect your Hardware Wallet
Connect accounts from your hardware device.
- Select the BlockWallet logo on the top left-hand corner of your screen.
- Select "Create an Account".
- Select “Connect Hardware Wallet”.
- Select either “Ledger” or “Trezor” depending on your hardware device and press “Continue”.
- A common mistake we find users are making is NOT opening up the Ethereum App, so please make sure you do this to avoid any errors!
- Select the Ledger or Trezor device you have connected to your device and press “Connect”.
- Select the wallet address you would like to import and press “Import”.
- You should see the following image when you’ve imported your wallet address(es) to BlockWallet.
- To double-check that you’ve imported correct wallet address(es), select the wallet icon on the top left-hand corner.
Additional thoughts
For optimal privacy, we recommend that you think carefully about your accounts. For example, you might want to have separate accounts for trading, holding, NFTs, and making payments. BlockWallet's privacy features allow you to manage these accounts without linking them to each other.
